Kneeling to tie the knot
In my shoelaces
Any flatlander with big mountain dreams inevitably ends up at a place like this – the biggest hill they can find nearby. In our town, this place is called Abe’s Hill. Runners and hikers gather here to build their strength, 30ft of elevation at a time.
Thanks to Mike, Devyn, and the whole Arete crew for building dreams here together.
The moon is waning
Shaped by each curve
Of the track
Leave the house
In darkness, return
In the light
Blueberry sky
All my ambition
Ferns through open hands
Glowing
A rabbit’s white tail
In the dark
Bounding
Through the dew
Delight
Morning runners
Swarm of skeeters
Chasing sweat and blood
The only labour
Today as yesterday
Returning home
The old man
And the birds in flight agree
It’s a good morning
