Expecting the sun

Stoic evergreen
Failure to contain
A hundred bird songs

Timid pink moon
Disappears softly
Chickadee’s song

On a painted sky
Great horned owl’s silhouette
Taking flight

South wind
Warm and persuasive
Running north
