Haunt the morning path

See fox run
With flowing tail outstretched
Above the snow

Growling through the trees
With bitter snowy gusts
Angry southern wind

Deer trails slice
Through the fresh drifts
First (human) tracks

Snow globe
Shaken, flipped, shaken again
Winter playground

Southern winds
Drifts reach across the path
Change in the air

Blue shadows
Squeaky snow
Cold seeping in

Between the cold
And the warm body’s breath
Glasses fogging up

Summer’s secret nest
Revealed at autumn’s shedding
Topped with winter snow
