Morning runners

The only labour
Today as yesterday
Returning home

The old man
And the birds in flight agree
It’s a good morning

Dew drops
On the red bluestem
Held lightly

Nighthawk silhouettes
Darting across the edges
Where shadows meet light

Do you see the star
Twinkling above
The sunrise

Crunch of leaves
A sweet scent
In the rain

Satisfied fisherman
