Half-hearted patchwork
Pulled gently back revealing
Ocean of sparkles

Straight from the arctic
Cutting, biting, and howling
Spread wings and fly (south)

Toss-and-turning trees
Ghost-white clouds cross the dark sky
Before angry wind

What a giant waste
Hundred billion lights left on
All night in the sky

Thick inky darkness
Wind blows over the surface
Moon becoming new

Low-hanging crescent
Commuter headlights pointing
Mute constellations

Crunchy footstep beat
Disturb the silent darkness
Shaking leaves applaud

Golden red sunrise
Gold and red leaves fall downward
South-bound flocks glowing
